Great communication is when you exchanging ideas and suggestions on how the job could be done efficiently and to good standards. The parts of communication, I’m good at is listening to different ideas and feedback on how i can improve. Great communication is also respecting other peoples ideas and what they got to say, Great communication is also asking questions so you can be more involved and see what you can do to help. Parts of communication I need to work on is telling people to put on PPE and finding out what needs to be done and ask more questions.

One aspect of building I took part in was putting up some of the palings. first we had to put up stringline because so they were all the same height also used another pailing for the gap between the pailing.

Another aspect I took part in was putting holes with the auger bit and a shovel bit on the joints of the railing so the bolt will be under the surface so the railing wont have the bump of the bolt we used the coach bolts that is all I did last week.

My success over the year, I have developed different building skills and knowledge like different trick and tips on how to make the work more efficient and quicker also knowing the different hazards for different tools like using a nail gun how the gun could back fire and could lose grip on the gun. Knowing different properties for timber.

ways I show mental toughness is when i am face with hardships I find power to persevere and not give up

The year for me has been good. The CTA has given me lots of great opportunities like learning new stuff then putting it to action. I like being in the construction trades academy because I get to do lots of hands-on work and at the start of the year I get to take a first aid course and I learn how to give CPR and how to help in case someone has a seizure.  When i make a mistake the teachers help me learn to do it the right way im getting through my paper work slowly but it give good learning my year has been good learnt alot and done alot.

This means to me that people should look after them self and other by cleaning the work site and looking out for people in physicalways and a mental way. This also mean being safe all the time Eg; cleaning after your self ,looking out for hazards, knowing how to use all the equipment properly.

Last week we learnt about cutting list and how they are very important for building so you know which materials you need and how much it will cost.

The cutting list main purpose is to make sure that every person knows what matierials you will be using and how it is all going to be.

This quote means to me finding different ways to solve problem with creative inventions.

Eg: when you are playing a rugby game and both teams are equally matched and the person who thinks out side tghe box and thinking of different tactics the team will win the game.

Learning to take responsibility for myself

This means not depending on people all the time its ok to get a little help sometimes but doing it constenly, like getting your mum to wake you up. Taking responsibility is making your bed or cleaning your room getting yourself up for school/work and cleaning after yourself.

This also means acknowledging and taking accountability for present and past mistake and learning how to fix it and learn from the mistake.

I learnt how to brace the posts also you have to put up profiles and figure out where to dig the holes and put the posts with the string line .

I liked putting in the posts and doing the cement also putting in all the nogs and painting .
